Integrated Business and Personal Planning

Tax, accounting and other financial matters-like most complex undertakings-benefit from an approach that includes the larger picture, as well as its details. The whole is properly more than the sum of the parts in the financial affairs of closely held businesses and their owners. Decisions about business transactions profit from awareness of the tax effects, cash flow needs, retirement, estate and succession plans, and other financial particulars of business owners and their families.

Informed decisions, those that take into consideration all the related factors, are inevitably the best decisions. Besides being cost-effective, they actively contribute to the accumulation and preservation of wealth.

Productive financial decisions also demand professional knowledge, experience and attention to detail. Knowledge of the effects of business and personal tax laws and legal structures on business transactions and personal planning; experience analyzing complex situations, articulating alternatives and executing plans; professional thoroughness-all are essential.

We are knowledgeable and experienced advisors committed to addressing immediate needs while accomplishing larger, integrated business and personal objectives. We are organized for the purpose. A team of highly qualified CPAs and experienced staff, we provide the continuity, knowledge and personal attention that such an approach demands.

Representative Clients

CrawfordEllenbogen's business clients represent a variety of industries and professions. The businesses are typically family owned, often with more than one generation of management, or they are sole proprietorships with sometimes-extensive family participation. The owners frequently have additional interests, with real estate the most common, but others range as far as horse breeding and hog farming. Remarkably, some owners simultaneously pursue professional careers-in law and opera, for example.

Most typically, our clients have a web of inter-related business and personal financial interests. Because of this, they face complex decisions with significant consequences for themselves, their families, their associates and their employees. As a result, they frequently take advantage of family limited partnerships, multi-generational trusts and other estate planning strategies.
